Country Director for MPA; Chief Nat. Ebo Nsarko explained that CTL is a programme aimed at improving the quality of education globally. It enables access to quality instructional and learning resources in marginalized communities. “It was launched in Ghana in 2010 and has supported over 100 youth on secondary school scholarships in Ashanti and Upper East regions”, he revealed and added that various forms of the project are ongoing in several other regions in Ghana. He says the programme spans several developing Countries including Ghana and provides access to Technical and Vocational Education Training, breaks down gender barriers and also helps connect beneficiaries to international markets.

The programme helps the youth attain vocational and Technical skills by identifying skilled artisans interested in training the youth, connecting them and then providing the needed support to ensure the trainee acquires the necessary skills. CTL also helps incubate new businesses set up by trainees by providing entrepreneurship training and also connecting them to various markets etc. “It also connects students from developed countries with their colleagues from developing countries for what I describe as cross fertilization of ideas and knowledge sharing”.
